I'm having a concern... My public IP address has not changed in about a year, making me believe I have a static IP.
My ISP says it's not static and it changes every 10 hours or so. I keep telling them it has not changed ever. Not once.

I did notice if I plug the modem directly to my computer I get a different IP (public IP) than if I go through my router. Any suggestions?

Also I don't have RIP2 I have RIP 2B or RIP 2M... which should I choose?? Thanks if you can help I'd appreciate it!

FIXED!! I've been looking for a post like this for awhile. Thank you so much! I think this has probably been the problem for a long time with other routers as well. It has mostly seemed to affect macs, although perhaps it has been the problem with some PCs too on our guest wireless linksys system. At least the Netgear is working reliably for our 3 ipods.
